Unfortunately, the time you should have confessed was before now, but potentially later. Confessing at this point will make it really easy to drift apart if it goes poorly. When you both settle in to a stable dynamic again, you should then explain, without going into detail, that you do harbor feelings for her. Don't frame it as a love confession, these ain't the movies. Just explain that it's there and that you aren't with her just for a relationship or sex. Then explain that you wanted to get it out in the open because you don't wanna keep secrets.
The important thing is to accept the answer, going off of straight male/female friendship studies, is that usually the woman isn't interested. Granted, that's not all so you could be lucky. But your should go in prepared for it to be a honest discussion on how to set new boundaries to help move past the feelings and still maintain a friendship in a way that everyone feels comfortable with
