Sort of like a baptism - instead of it erasing original sin, a spanking to atone for all past misgivings and to set the tone of who is now monitoring my behavior.

atone, guess so, seems you have quite a catalogue of "misgivings" ;) it will also act as a reminder, restraint and spanking, held firm whilst you are disciplined and used
