plaese read...i am a 26 year old man. i have just caught a 20 year old girl beating my 57 year old mother up. it happend just outside my house, i was in my living room when i heard my mother screaming for help, i ran out of the house and confronted the girl, she admitted beating my mother up. i could see my mother laying on the floor in pain, without a thought i punched the girl in the face, she fell down to the floor and then i walked over to my mother and helped her up. by the way my mother is ok if you was wondering but i am distraught, i cant believe i have just punched a girl. i really regret it but also i think she deserved it. what do you think?

She fully deserved it. If you get in trouble, either claim self defence, or diminished responsibility, you'll be fine.
