That so many people are noting our entertainment industry as some kind of achievement.. Grow up, you are embarrassing all of us that can read above a second grade level. Our movies and books are so elementary. The good guys are always 100% good and pure and the bad guys are always 100% evil. None of them have so much as an atom's width of depth, like most Americans... Try reading and watching some entertainment material from around the world, not just the west.
There is nothing, and I mean nothing for american's to brag about. We brought the world fast food, smart phones, muscle cars, brown clouds, acid rain, mandatory dependance on fossil fuels, GMF, Grand theft auto (The game and the crime), puritanical cultural imperialism, West Virginia, Texas, Joe Arpio, Rap, The Simpsons, and the list goes on further than I can possibly type with the current availability of hard drive space on the planet. We have nothing to brag about. Nothing to be proud of. Most of the rest of the world does not hate us because we hate them. They hate us because we are the lowest common denominator and we are violently forcing that infantile mentality on to everyone else. I'm saying this while browsing the boards of a fairly extreme porn site and frankly it will likely reach more americans than if it was somewhere important like wiki-leaks. That is our society. Ignorant, childish, unable to think beyond what someone tells us too. Always looking for some one to tell us our opinion and constantly on the hunt for a new group to blame for the world's pain...
