To capture stickams i usually used camtasia recorder... the only problem is the avi files which it creates are very large in size, can anyone recommend another program or a program to reduce the files in size?

camtasia studio 6 rite? just edit the file to reduce the size.may work

Use camtasia.

Go into video settings and set the fps between 5 and 20 dependant on the playback quality of whatever you're recording. Also, use a good codec, some make some fat files.

Div X codec gives a small file size,just download the codec though,not all the players,and crap that can come with it.
