Not a confession really, just an interesting observation...Some time back I was here helping you defectives understand yourselves, always amusing btw, I used a phrase which,while I'm sure I did not coin the phrase, it is a phrase I've never seen elsewhere or even heard spoken... A couple of days later I was listening to rush limbaugh (pig) and what do I here!? yup the very phrase I had used a couple of days before. While not proof positive, I do think good old rush visits this site. Admittedly, one phrase is scant evidence, yet I'm disinclined to believe in unrelated coincidences of this nature. So it is in that light I ask:

And for the record, Rush Limbaugh using the phrase "scant evidence" (which he commonly does) and you only having seen it here previously, is scant evidence that Rush Limbaugh might visit motherless.

It's a common misconception. You think you've "invented" a phrase because you can't remember hearing it before. Truth is that it's probably quite an obvious and common association, and has been "invented" three or four times a hour. Or you heard bits and pieces before, remembered those pieces and then spontaneously regurgitated the two pieces to make a phrase. If that's what happened, it's not uncommon for it to happen to someone else.
