I have read and/or heard of such incidents, and they fleetingly crossed my mind as I walked toward the bathroom. But I think I just trusted that it would be alright for me since it was a flight attendant who invited me. I assumed she knew what she was doing and wouldn't be doing it if it was unreasonably risky. Famous last words, I suppose, but that was my mindset at the time.

I agree, all the fun has gone out of flying, now its just a cattle call unless your going first class or using and oriental carrier.
PS I am a member of the mile high club but that was back in the 60's

The 60s were a little before my flying days, but I can certainly imagine how much fun people must have had back then. I'm sure mile high experiences are extremely rare post-911. I certainly never thought I would join (or more accurately, be "recruited") such a prestigious club. ;-)

911 changed a lot of things. Who would have thought that 12 fuck-ups could change the world for millions of people

No kidding. In terms of changing the trajectory of social values and attitudes and the relationship dynamics between the citizenry and government, I think 9/11 will prove to have a greater impact than the Depression, the New Deal, Kennedy's assassination, Vietnam, and Watergate. It is very, very saddening, this path on which we have permitted ourselves to be found.

Anybody that has flown abroad on US carriers knows there is no such thing as a hot flight attendant on them. Maybe it was Scandinavian Air or KLM?
