The Russian composer Peter Tchaikovsky, known for such works as his Violin Concerto and the "1812 Overture," also wrote a few operas. While his most famous work in that genre was "Eugene Onegin," based upon the epic poem by Russia's most revered poet -- Alexander Pushkin -- he also composed an opera whose title translates into English as "Queen of Spades."

It was a play on words.
