Need advice
My GF and I have been dating for 2 yrs and living together for the last 6 months. She is 24 I'm 27. We met through work she was an assistant manager for a retail store and I was manager. We worked at 2 different locations 500 miles apart. We talked on the phone about a dozen times ,strictly work, about some policies her store was implementing that my store had already gone through. We finally met at a training seminar and really hit it off. We started talking online and texting. After a few months I I flew down to her place and we hung out for about a week.
She would always ask me weird questions kind of randomly but it never made me think anything was weird or wrong it just kind of went with her personality. I flew in and she picked me up from the airport and we went back to her place. She seemed nervous and was making super random small talk. At this point we had never kissed other than when I told her bye at the seminar and it was a nothing more than a plain kiss on the lips. We got to her apartment and grabbed her waist and kissed her and it was amazing. We started making and I figured we are going to go ahead and have sex when we suddenly stopped and she ran to her and closed the door.
She locked the door and I could hear her crying. I asked her what was wrong and she told me she needed to tell me something. I thought maybe she had a bf or something alomg those lines. When she calmed down she told me she was a VIrgin. It was kind of shocking because she is pretty progressive and open minded but I didn't think it was that big of deal. I told her it was ok and that we could slow down until she was comfortable. She said she really wanted me to be her first but that she needed to tell me something else. There was a long pause then she blurted out I'm a Transexual. I'd worked for a large national retail chain all through college and at this point almost 7 years so I knew plenty of TS women some were obvious others not so much. He was the most shocked I'd ever been in my life. This woman had no traces of masculinity. At the seminar we hung out by the pool for 2 days and she worea bikini and I never once noticed any bulge. I told her it was ok and asked her to come out. She asked if I was mad and I said no. She told me her story and how that she was beat up pretty bad her freshman yr of college because she didn't know how to tell a guy. He broke her jaw,her nose and put her in the hospital for a week. He got off with community service and his record cleared because of no priors and the hick judge blamed her for tricking him.
Anyways outside of her family that was the last person she purposely told. She moved back after that.anyways we didn't have sex that day but the next day we did and it was wonderful. This may sound kind of gay but we really connected on another level. It was more than sex. The week was great we had sex only once more but we really connected. After 6 months I transferred to a store about an hour from hers to be the General manager. I got a good pay raise and We saw each other every day. She went back to school and just graduated with her Masters. We moved in together 6 months ago when moved closer to my hometown. I got a new job,not in retail,and she got a new job not in retail.
Not sure why I wrote all that to ask this question. I bought an engagement ring month ago and plan on proposing this weekend. Nobody in my family knows about her and she has always said that she never wants anyone to know. She still has a penis and has no plans of ever going all the way with surgery. So last night at dinner we were talking and she says she thinks if we get married ,no idea about the ring, we should tell my family, at least my parents, that she is transgendered. I almost threw up at the table.
Anyways am I being selfish not wanting anybody else to know? She's been on hormones since she hit puberty and has feminine body. This is making me rethink everything. I wonder if I even love her if i'm not willing to tell my parents.
