Please disable the new hidden pop-up that now encompasses most of the empty space the visitor sees at any given ML page.
The concept of a hidden pop-up that gets triggered by clicking a non-clickable part of a webpage is one which, I at least, find rather objectionable. And on ML, especially insidious, since with all the Flash and glitz, the webcode often forgets what one was doing one second prior... Clicking on what ought to be an innocuous part of the webpage (nothing/anything non-clickable) helps with this, as it re-sets and recenters and reorients things. All that, now made much more difficult.
In fairness, there are still non-clickable areas one might still.., click on without a hidden pop-up being triggered, but there have now been reduced to a mere 1/100th of their former size. Naturally, I am going to add to my ad block, but I still think that this is a...not respectful to anonymous visitors.
Simple. If I am clicking on something on ML that isn't highlighted, a hidden popup ought not be initiated. It never did before, in all its years (to the best of my recollection).
All that having been said, it was probably said (or written, rather) for naught, as I am not so sure how Random will censor, suppress, repress (or oppress, even) this valid criticism (most likely, he will simply delete it, or at the very least, ban me), but I am relatively certain it will be one of those ways. rather than a free exchange of ideas. (In which people may... disagree with one another, even on the direction of this website. Imagine.)
