I confess the the level of cynicism here makes me laugh. Someone could post about getting a new goldfish and someone else already has "pics or gtfo" in a cut and paste file just waiting to use it.

People often ask me why I have such a cynical perspective on love, and all I can think is 'Look at all the examples I've been given and tell me how I can find hope in the matter at all?'. We live in a world where love is second-rate, or coerced out of people, not genuinely felt by the heart. We betray the ones closest to us with secretive conversations, breaking the hearts we promised to shield from the brunt of the world. We care more about finding our sliver of happiness than sparing a moment of kindness to those who deserve it without hesitation.
How can I possibly NOT be pessimistic about love? We treat it like leprosy, where being truly affected by it is worse than any imaginable curse.

I enjoy fighting homeless drug addicts. I drive through the streets at night, pick up drug addicts, put them in a cage, put on some brass knuckles and then get to work. I sell tickets to bent cops and cynical social workers who enjoy seeing me service the under-currents of the underclass with my fists.
I admit it's not something I'm proud of, but it's better than getting on an internet site looking for child porn, isn't it?

I confess that i feel like a cynical asshole. If there are any other South Park fans out there. A couple recent episodes had Stan realizing that he is one.
