Books a quite good for this but you must think about what you're doing! When you stay on one column of books it's obvious there will be problem to remove them one by one ( rather hole stack will collapse). But having 2 columns of books makes everything much easier

Counter presents time of being hung, not a time of being conscious. Kicking and move doesn't mean that hangee is still conscious - this is fundamental difference!
