In a 5-2 ruling Monday, the California Supreme Court allowed police to search the cell phones of people who are arrested even without possessing a warrant, saying defendants lose their privacy rights for any items they're carrying when taken into custody. So, if you're arrested unfairly for some reason, cops can still search your smartphone and presumably copy, say, all your contacts or emails or phone or text records, all without a warrant. No possible abuse scenarios there, right?

if youre dumb enough to have something incriminating on your cellphone, you deserve whatever happens to you
For those who are not smart enough to realize it, you are slowly but surely losing ever bit of privacy we have left. The day is coming when they will have cameras or sensors in your homes to monitor everything you do. Did you know they have black boxes in your car that record the speed and more if you get in a accident? Did you know they have a machine that records your speed, checks your registration and takes a pic of the people inside to see if they are wearing seat belts and automatically sends a ticket to the owner if in violation of the law?
I wonder whats next? Machines that can see under your clothes..oh wait they already have those, maybe a machine that can see through and hear through the walls of a building...hmmmm
