It was NOT fake.... I was watching this afternoon. Shepard Smith was being quite glib until the guy ran away from the car. Fox news had "set up" a 5 second delay, but I guess somebody wasn't paying attention and it aired live. He kept yelling cut away, cut away but the useless piece of garbage put the gun to his temple and fired. (Apparently the loser had been shooting at the police before car jacking the vehicle and fleeing) Saved the taxpayers tens (or hundreds) of thousands of dollars avoiding a trial and keeping his dumb ass in prison.
