Another interesting one is "fanny." In the U.S., it's a common, non-obscene term for "butt," as one might tell a child, "I'm gonna spank your fanny." But I am told in G.B., it's synonymous with "vagina" -- which gives the old book title, "Fanny Hill," an entirely new meaning. Odd language, English.
