what is the difference between private and personal setting in sharing ? Personal photos can be shared by link ?

The 'private' setting is used to prevent uploads being added to groups etc, but they can be shared with a direct link.
The 'personal' setting creates a new and very public section on your profile page titled 'pics and vids of me' where it will display your personal media. This also prevents them being added to groups/galleries etc as only fully public uploads can be added to them.
