@althea_lovely Well mainly because the band was from the area I grew up in and I was into that music scene around then, so it was really big news at the time. That...and two films featuring it, so I've picked a lot up here and there.

@althea_lovely No, the video has done well over the years but its from around 1979. Sadly Ian had already died by the time you were born. It's still quite bizarre that you sent me the challenge to read the tattoo....and you knew nothing of the connection! Weird!! 😮

@althea_lovely Oh...your type...or just cute in general? Unfortunately it was all rather tragic in the end. 😢 OMG just worked out that he would have been nearly 64 now!!

@althea_lovely Great....thanks for giving it a listen. It's actually one of the songs in the soundtrack for the film Donnie Darko...but that's probably not one you've seen.

@althea_lovely Ha ha...and all this from a tattoo challenge! You may as well hear the track then, for final closure. I doubt it'll be your thing, but try and stick with it to the end. The singer is called Ian Curtis, hence "Ian C" carved on the door. The lyrics of the song are subject to much debate....watch "Control" for a dramatisation of the events.

@althea_lovely Well I think it has to be a "balance of probabilities" thing, rather than definitive proof, but I'm going to strike #1. Rule of thumb....younger types generally put headphones on when getting lift from oldie.....to AVOID listening to their music! This I know from experience lol! The other ink, and hair style (?) indicate more rock chick than disco diva, so flip a coin between opts 2 and 3!

@althea_lovely You're doing that impression of a cheeky moo again...and you're getting very good at it ha, ha! Well, suggestions are: - 1) "old" b\f = Dad.....and she's heard it when he plays his stuff in the car. 2) If you're into "inde \ rock" it's a timeless classic so she'll hear it on the radio, club nights etc. 3) She just saw the line in a tattoo design book \ mag and liked it. "Bf in your age"....yeah, right lol!! 😄

@althea_lovely Gosh...and you didn't even realise that it's the title of a song....which you've never heard!! Might send a YouTube link but as it's a sort of inde-rock type thing, probably not your thing anyway. New Order's biggest selling song was Blue Monday, which I believe is still sampled for contemporary pop and dance tracks.

@althea_lovely Oh...what a strange coincidence then!! The band was called Joy Division and after the death of their lead singer, went on to become a band called New Order. Yes...both names have associations with the 3rd Reich, but it was more ironic than anything else! Their story is in two films..."24 Hour Party People" (2002) and "Control" (2007). Both worth checking out. Hope that helps. 🙂

@althea_lovely Did you know this was a band from the area where I live...is that why you selected it as a challenge, when you spotted it?
